How the work is made

Every photograph here was taken in the wild!

Nothing on this site is a stock purchase or a composite. Each photograph is one frame, made on location — a ridge before sunrise, a riverbank in the rain, a stand of trees a bear happened to walk through. Some took a single morning. Some took a dozen returns to the same spot.

That is also why the archive is larger than the gallery. What you see here is the small share of frames that earned a print: sharp enough, captivating enough, and honest enough about the animal to be worth hanging.

Where and when a photograph was made is on its own page — the place, the season, and the settings that got it.

Every photograph is offered in the products that actually suit it. A wide landscape becomes a canvas or a framed panel; a tight wildlife portrait works at sizes where the detail still reads. You will not find an image listed on a product its crop cannot carry.

Prints are made to order and shipped from the production partner nearest you, so nothing sits in a warehouse fading. If you need a size that is not listed, most images have the resolution for it — ask.
